Chief for a Day

Saint John Police are looking for a new Chief to take over policing duties in Saint John for one (1) day; however, only those between the ages of 5-12 will be considered for the role.

The ‘Chief for a Day’ contest is being held as part of National Police Week: May 12-18, 2024, and is open to Saint John area students.

To enter, we are looking for you to provide a short, one-page example for the following question:

Part of being a Saint John Police Officer requires you to be a Difference Maker.

Being a Difference Maker includes being able to offer a “Hand Up” to a friend, a classmate, or a family member when they are down.

How have you made a difference in someone’s life by offering a Hand Up?

The new Chief will have the opportunity to spend the day at Saint John Police Headquarters and check out some really cool things.  A great day has been planned for our new Chief.

Please send a copy of your essay, along with your name to police@saintjohn.ca with a subject line: Chief for a Day or you can mail or drop off a copy of your essay to Police Headquarters at 1 Peel Plaza, Saint John, NB E2L 0E1.  Also make sure to have a parent, guardian or caregiver complete the below information.

All entries must be received by Friday, May 10, 2024.
