Protect Your Home

Here are some helpful tips to protect your home:

  • Lock your doors and windows before leaving the house or going to bed, even if you will only be gone for a short time.
  • Install a security system with exterior surveillance cameras and motion sensors.
  • Keep your outdoor lighting on at night and install motion-sensing lights.
  • Make sure your landscaping is trimmed and that there are no hiding places near your home.
  • Get to know your neighbors and look out for each other’s property.
  • Don’t leave valuables in plain view or in easy-to-reach places.
  • Install a peephole on your front door and don’t open the door to strangers.
  • Set timers on lights and TVs when you’re away to make it look like someone is home.
  • Never hide a spare key outside.
  • Make sure your home is visible from the street and that your address is clearly visible.
