As a result of a public complaint and subsequent external criminal investigation conducted by the Fredericton Police Force, a 1-year member of the Saint John Police, has been charged with Assault. He is scheduled to appear in provincial court on July 3, 2025.
The officer has been re-assigned to administrative duties pending the criminal proceedings. Once the criminal court proceedings have concluded, a Police Act investigation will follow.
This allegation did not meet the mandate of the Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT).
