Lost Property

  • Report a Lost Item
    If you would like to report a lost item, please visit File a Report. You may conveniently file a report online, in person, or by contacting us by telephone.
  • Inquire about a Lost Item
    If you want to inquire if a lost item has already been turned into the Saint John Police, please call Exhibits and Property Control at 506-648-3235 or e-mail police@saintjohn.ca with the subject line “Lost and Found”.
  • Retrieve a Found Item
    If you have been contacted by the Saint John Police to retrieve your found property, please call Exhibits and Property Control at 506-648-3235 to schedule an appointment to retrieve your property. Photo Identification (driver’s license, passport, or a Service New Brunswick issued photo identification card) must be presented when retrieving an item.

Found Property

If you have located someone’s lost property, please bring it to us in person at 1 Peel Plaza, Saint John, NB or call us by telephone at 506-648-3333.

Seized Property

Seized items are retained in Exhibits and Property Control for at least 30 days from the last sentence date. After 30 days, please call Exhibits and Property Control at 506-648-3235 to inquire if the seized property can be released and to make an appointment to retrieve the property.  Photo Identification (driver’s license, passport, or a Service New Brunswick issued photo identification card) must be presented when retrieving an item.

Depending on the property and circumstances, the person may need to provide additional documentation or evidence to prove ownership. Once the necessary documentation is provided and the request is approved, Exhibits and Property Control will arrange for the return of the property.
