Arrest in Firearm Investigation

The Saint John Police Patrol Services Unit with the Saint John Street Crime Integrated Enforcement Unit have made an arrest in relation to a firearms investigation.

It is alleged that:

On Thursday, July 04, 2024, at approximately 6:41 p.m., an officer observed a man in the 200-block area of Waterloo Street. The man was carrying a duffel bag that the officer believed contained a firearm.

The 35-year-old man was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit and found to be in possession of a loaded firearm. He appeared in court on July 05, 2024, charged with possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, carrying a concealed weapon and breach of a court order. He was remanded to custody to return to court on Monday, September 03, 2024, for sentencing.
