The Saint John Police responded to a report of an armed person on Wright Street.
It is reported that:
On Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at approximately 11:26 a.m., officers responded to a report of an armed person on Wright Street.
It was alleged that a man was waving a rifle out a window at another person on the street.
Officers arrived on scene, cleared the immediate area, and contained the building in question.
A police negotiator called the resident who was cooperative and exited their apartment unarmed. The police subsequently searched the apartment and no firearm was located.
Police continue to investigate. There are no charges at this time.
