The Saint John Police Major Crime unit has made an arrest in an arson that took place in the 100-Block of Saint John Street.
It is alleged that:
On Thursday, January 04, 2024, at approximately 2:09 a.m., emergency crews responded to a fire at an apartment building in the 100-Block of Saint John Street.
Upon arrival, it was discovered that the structure was on fire. The fire was extinguished by the Saint John Fire Department. Significant damages were sustained to the building as a result of the fire.
The Saint John Police Major Crime and Forensic Services were called to the scene to investigate.
Through the course of the investigation investigators were led to believe that the fire was set.
On January 16, 2024, following an investigation by the Major Crime Unit, a 45-year-old woman was arrested in relation to this arson. The accused is scheduled to appear in court, April 04, 2024.
