It is alleged that:

On Sunday, February 4, 2024, at approximately 3:00 a.m., a red Hyundai Accent collided with a concrete barrier westbound on Highway 1 near Exit #119.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle after it exited the highway and turned onto King Street West. The vehicle failed to stop and officers discontinued their pursuit.

The suspect vehicle was then located after it collided with a utility pole on Ludlow Street.  The 22-year-old male driver and a 21-year-old female passenger were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver was discharged from hospital and arrested for flight from police, dangerous driving, and breach of a court order. He was also charged with driving while suspended under the Motor Vehicle Act. He was held in custody and is scheduled to return to court on Monday, February 5, 2024.

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone in the area that has dash-cam or video footage of the incident at the time it occurred.
