Arrest in Assault Investigation

The Saint John Police have made an arrest in relation to an incident of an assault with a weapon.
It is alleged that:
On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at approximately 10:43 p.m. police responded to a call of a fight in the 78-block of Prince William Street in Saint John. A video of the incident has been circulating on social media where youths can be seen using weapons during the altercation. A window of a local business was also damaged during the incident. Police arrived within minutes of receiving the call, however the youths had fled the area on foot.
On Thursday, August 14, 2025, an arrest was made of a 17-year-old male for assault with a weapon and fail to comply with a youth sentence.
On Friday, August 15, 2025, the youth attended court and is remanded into custody for a bail hearing to be held at a later date.
The Major Crime Unit continues to investigate.
