Arrest in Assault Investigation – Waterloo Street

The Saint John Police have arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with an assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

On Monday, September 2, 2024, at approximately 11:48 a.m., a 40-year-old man was allegedly assaulted in the 100-block area of Waterloo Street.

On arrival, emergency crews located the 40-year-old man who was suffering from a head injury. He was transported to the hospital, where he received treatment for 8 days before being released.

As a result of an investigation conducted by the Saint John Police Major Crime Unit, the suspect was identified as a 30-year-old man.

On Friday, September 13, 2024, the suspect was located in the area of Exmouth Street by members of the Patrol Services Division. He was taken into custody at that time without further incident.

The accused was charged with aggravated assault and is being held in custody. He is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing on Monday, September 16, 2024.
