The Saint John Police have arrested a 28-year-old man following a residential break and enter.
It is reported that:
On Monday, June 17, 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m., police responded to a report of a man breaking into an abandoned building in the 20-block of Garden Street.
It was alleged that the suspect had forcefully gained access to the building using a pickaxe.
A member of the Saint John Police Canine Unit was called to the scene to assist in the search for the suspect. During an exterior search of the building a 28-year-old man who matched the description of the suspect was taken into custody.
There were damages reported in relation to the building but, due to a quick response and apprehension of the suspect there was nothing reported stolen.
The accused was later released from custody on an undertaking with conditions including to appear in court on Monday, October 07, 2024.
