Arrest in Break, Enter, Theft and Mischief Investigations

The Saint John Police have arrested a 39-year-old man for multiple break, enter, theft and mischief investigations.

It is reported that:

On Thursday, June 15, 2023, at approximately 9:15 a.m., police responded to a report of damage to a business on Fairville Boulevard that had allegedly occurred overnight.

On Friday, June 16, 2023, at approximately 5:14 a.m., police were called to a man sleeping on an ATV in a parking lot on Rothesay Avenue.

Officers arrived and confirmed that the new ATV was registered to the same business on Fairville Boulevard and subsequently discovered that the business had now been broken into sometime after closing on Thursday, June 15, 2023.

The suspect in possession of the ATV was arrested for break, enter and theft in connection with this incident as well as another break, enter and theft into a business on Union Street that allegedly occurred between June 4-5, 2023, involving the theft of tools and construction materials.

Additionally, on Friday, June 16, 2023, at approximately 9:08 a.m., it was reported that a Ford F-150 truck had allegedly been stolen overnight from another business on Fairville Boulevard. As a result of further investigation, the same suspect was arrested in connection with this theft and the vehicle was recovered by police.

The 39-year-old accused was held in custody and appeared in court charged with two counts of break and enter, one count of theft of a motor vehicle, one count of mischief, and four counts of probation violation.

He was remanded to jail and is scheduled to return to court on Monday, June 19, 2023, for a bail hearing.
