The Saint John Police have arrested a 29-year-old woman for using a fake ID to fraudulently obtain merchandise.
It is reported that:
On Tuesday, May 22, 2024, at approximately 01:39 p.m., police responded to a business in the 80-block of Consumers Drive in relation to a woman attempting to purchase cell phones using a fake ID.
The business owner was aware of a similar incident that had occurred over the weekend in Fredericton NB where someone using the same name displayed on the fake ID was able to obtain thousands of dollars in of merchandise from the business.
Police quickly responded to the call and took a 29-year-old woman into custody for fraud, uttering forged documents and obstruction. The woman is being held for court.
