The Saint John Police have made an arrest in relation to a manslaughter investigation.
It is alleged that:
On August 26, 2025, police were notified by the New Brunswick Justice and Public Safety Coroner Services regarding the investigation of a deceased 63-year-old male whose death was believed to be the result of foul play.
Through the investigation conducted by the Saint John Police Major Crime Unit, it was learned that on July 19, 2025, paramedics had attended a men’s shelter in the 100-block of Waterloo Street for a male with a head injury. The male was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and died on July 26, 2025.
On January 29, 2026, 38-year-old, Thomas LeBlanc was arrested by the Saint John Police and charged with manslaughter and failure to comply with a probation order. He attended court and was remanded into custody for a bail hearing scheduled for February 2, 2026.
Thomas LeBlanc attended court today, remains in custody, and will be returning to court on February 5, 2026.
