Arrest in Robbery Investigation

The Saint John Police have arrested a 37-year-old man in connection with a robbery investigation.

It is reported that:

On Thursday, March 2, 2023, at approximately 10:42 p.m., the Saint John Police responded to a robbery at a south end convenience store in the 100-block of St James Street.

It is alleged that a 37-year-old man entered the store masked and demanded money from the store employee while armed with a weapon.

An altercation ensued between the store employee and the accused.

A third-party caller alerted the police who arrived on scene and arrested the accused for robbery and disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence.

The accused was held in custody and he is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, March 3, 2023. No physical injuries were reported.

The Major Crime Unit continues to investigate.
