The Saint John Police have arrested a 28-year-old man for impaired driving following a single vehicle collision.
It is alleged that:
On Sunday, December 3, 2023, at approximately 12:08 a.m., a newer model green Toyota Tacoma was travelling eastbound on Highway #1 at a high rate of speed.
The truck then veered to the right and collided with a guardrail at the Rothesay Avenue exit.
One person was observed running from the truck towards Rothesay Avenue wearing a red plaid jacket.
No other occupants were found at the scene. There was extensive damage to the truck and guardrail.
K9 was called to search for the suspect.
The suspect was later arrested by officers for impaired driving at a nearby residence, transported to hospital, and released from custody to return to court at a later date.
Investigators are appealing for witnesses or anyone in the area that has dash-cam or video footage of the incident at the time it occurred.
