The 36-year-old male appeared in Provincial Court this afternoon charged with one count of 2nd degree murder and one count of attempted murder. The male has been remanded into custody with a return date of March 24, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.

The Saint John Police have made an arrest in relation to a stabbing investigation.
It is alleged that:
On March 09, 2026, at approximately 7:59 p.m., police responded to a call of a stabbing in the area of Wellington Row in Saint John.
Upon police arrival, officers found an unconscious 46-year-old male who had sustained serious injuries and a second conscious 44-year-old male with serious injuries. Police and bystanders quickly rendered first aid to the injured males.
The suspect was still on scene with minor injuries and was immediately arrested by police.
The 46–year-old victim was transported to hospital. Subsequently, the victim was pronounced deceased.
The second 44-year-old victim was transported to hospital and is currently in serious condition.
A 36-year-old male is currently in police custody and will appear in court on March 10, 2026, to answer to the charges in connection with this incident.
The Major Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Services continue to investigate.
