The Saint John Police Street Crime Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU), with the assistance of Patrol Services, have arrested a 34-year-old man in a stolen vehicle following a collision with police.

It is reported that:

On Friday, October 20, 2023, at approximately 10:20 a.m., an undercover member of the IEU observed a stolen 2010 silver Nissan Sentra being operated in the Uptown area.

When police attempted to stop the stolen vehicle on Prince William Street, the 34-year-old driver, in an attempt to flee, reportedly drove into a marked police vehicle and reversed into another unmarked police vehicle.

The accused then attempted to flee on foot, but was immediately arrested at the scene for possession of stolen property, dangerous driving, and failing to stop for police.

The accused remains in custody until his next scheduled court appearance on Friday, October 27, 2023, for election.

No injuries were reported during the incident.
