Arrest in Theft, Damage and Possession of Stolen Property Investigation

The Saint John Police have arrested a 37-year-old man for a theft, damage to property and possession of stolen property investigation.

It is reported that:

On March 31, 2024, at approximately 1:12 a.m., police responded to a report of an individual breaking into a vehicle parked outside of a business on Thorne Avenue.

Officers arrived on scene and confirmed that the window of a vehicle, parked in the parking lot of the business had been broken out and several thousand dollars worth of tools were stolen.

A 37-year-old man was arrested by members of the Patrol Services Division. He was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court charged with theft from motor vehicle over $5000.00, mischief under $5000.00 and possession of stolen property.

He was remanded to jail and is scheduled to return to court on Tuesday, April 02, 2024, for a bail hearing.
