Arrest made for dangerous driving

The Saint John Police have arrested a 20-year-old man following a dangerous driving incident in East Saint John.

It is reported that:

On Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at approximately 1:38 a.m., a patrol officer observed an ATV driving recklessly in the area of Champlain Drive and Mcallister Drive in East Saint John. As the driver continued down Mcallister Drive, they were observed swerving back and forth across four lanes.

The ATV was eventually located abandoned in a parking lot in the 400-block of Westmorland Road. The 20-year-old operator of the vehicle was located a short distance away and was taken into custody without further incident. He was issued a POPA appearance notice for driving without due care and attention.

The Saint John Police would like to remind the public of the dangers of operating an ATV on public roads.
