The Saint John Police have arrested a youth in connection with a Motor Vehicle Theft investigation.

It is reported that:

On Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 9:20 p.m. a woman parked her vehicle in the 100-block of Sydney Street. The vehicle was left running as she went to the trunk of her vehicle to get a parcel and take it into a building.

A youth was observed getting into the vehicle and driving away.

A short time later Saint John Police responded to the intersection of Charlotte Street and Britain Street and located the vehicle.

A 16-year-old youth was identified as the suspect and taken into custody shortly after locating the vehicle. The youth was later released from custody to appear in court on August 21, 2024.

The Saint John Police Force would like to thank the public for their assistance.
