Arrests in Drug Investigation – Operation RED

The Saint John Police Street Crime Integrated Enforcement Unit (I.E.U.) have made six arrests following a 3-month drug trafficking investigation – Operation RED

It is reported that:

On March 14, 2024, two individuals were taken into custody during a traffic stop. The vehicle was subsequently searched, and two loaded firearms were located. A 36-year-old man and a 40-year-old man were charged with possession of a stolen vehicle as well as multiple weapons offenses. Both were remanded and are scheduled to appear in court on July 24, 2024.

On March 21, 2024, A stolen Honda Civic was located in the 100-block of McAllister Drive. The occupant of the vehicle was arrested. The vehicle was subsequently searched and a bag containing over $65,000 worth of drugs including crystal meth, fentanyl, meth pills, cocaine and hydromorphone was located in the vehicle. A 41-year-old woman and a 44-year-old woman were charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

On Friday, May 17, 2024, following a lengthy investigation that involved countless hours of surveillance that began in the Kennebecasis Valley area then spanned across Saint John and its outlying areas, investigators executed a traffic stop and arrested multiple individuals for possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Following the arrests, searches of the suspects and the vehicle that they were in resulted in the following evidence being seized:

-$75,205.80 in crystal meth, fentanyl and cocaine

-An ounce gold bar worth $3,365.00

-$1925.00 in Canadian Currency

-Drug paraphernalia

-Several knives

-Fictitious gas coupons

A 38-year-old woman, a 44-year-old woman, and a 28-year-old man were arrested for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (x3), possession of a weapon and proceeds of crime. The 44-year-old woman and the 28-year-old man were held in custody. The woman will appear in court on September 24, 2024, and the man is scheduled to appear on June 20, 2024. The 38-year-old woman was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on August 15, 2024.

The Integrated Enforcement Unit (I.E.U.) currently consists of officers from the Saint John Police, Kennebecasis Regional Police Force, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and New Brunswick Justice and Public Safety.
