Arrests in Drug Trafficking Investigation

The Saint John Police Street Crime Integrated Enforcement Unit (I.E.U.) with the assistance of the Saint John Police Emergency Tactical Service team (ETS) executed a Section 11 CDSA warrant following a 2-month drug trafficking investigation.  

On April 11, 2025, the ETS and IEU team arrested three individuals without incident. 

It was alleged that: 

  • An unlawfully at large federal inmate was living in a wooded area within Saint John along with two other individuals. 
  • Police received information that these individuals were trafficking fentanyl and methamphetamine. 
  • Police seized a loaded sawed-off shotgun, a sawed-off .22 calibre rifle, a quantity of crystal methamphetamine and fentanyl (street value of over $37 000), a bullet proof vest and Canadian currency. 

Jennifer Ross, aged 44, appeared in court and was released on a judge’s order with a future court date, is charged with the following: possession of cocaine and unauthorized possession of a firearm. 

Bruce Marion, aged 49, remains in custody and is charged with the following; unauthorized possession of firearm, possession of prohibited firearm with ammunition, possession of a firearm contrary to an order, unlawfully at large, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime. 

Steven Cyr, aged 42, is scheduled to appear in provincial court for a bail hearing April 14, 2025, is charged with possession of a firearm contrary to an order, unauthorized possession  of firearm and possession of a firearm contrary to an order.  

The Integrated Enforcement Unit (I.E.U.) consists of officers from the Saint John Police, Kennebecasis Regional Police Force, New Brunswick Justice and Public Safety and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.  Their mandate is to target drug trafficking, weapons and organized crime offences.  

“Fentanyl has become one of the most popular drugs of choice for drug users in Saint John over the past year, which has resulted in countless overdoses, numerous being fatal” says Det/Sergeant Tammy Spence, Street Crime Unit.
