Arrests in Drug Trafficking Investigation

The Saint John Police Street Crime Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU) have made arrests in a drug trafficking investigation.  

On April 8, 2026, at approximately 9:41p.m., IEU arrested a 56-year-old male and a 37-year-old female without incident from a vehicle. 

As a result of their arrests, the following evidence was seized by police including, but not limited to: 

  • 15 grams of a substance believed to be cocaine 
  • $450 in Canadian currency 
  • A cell phone 
  • Digital scales 
  • Pellet gun 
  • Aerosol irritant 

The total approximate street value of seized drugs is $1,500. 

The 56-year-old male was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, breach of a court order, and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000. He appeared in provincial court this morning, was remanded into custody, and will return to court on April 13, 2026, for a bail hearing.   

The 37-year-old female was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine. She was released and will appear in provincial court to answer to the charge on July 8, 2026. 

The Integrated Enforcement Unit consists of police officers from the Saint John Police, Kennebecasis Regional Police Force, New Brunswick Justice and Public Safety, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
