The two accused appeared in Provincial court this afternoon for their scheduled bail hearings. The charges have been updated with new information’s being laid.
A 44-year-old male has been charged with attempted murder and two counts of aggravated assault.
A 19-year-old male has been charged with attempted murder and one count of aggravated assaulted.
The scheduled bail hearings have been adjourned until Thursday August 06, 2026, both parties are remanded into custody until then.
Correction to our earlier media release: Two males aged 19 years of age and 44 years of age were transported from an East side residence to the hospital as a result of injuries they sustained earlier. The 19-year-old was not bleeding on scene as earlier stated in the media release.

The Saint John Police have arrested two males in relation to a serious assault that occurred uptown over the long weekend, which has led to a charge of attempted murder.
It is reported that:
On Saturday, August 01, 2026, at approximately 09:41 p.m., the Saint John Police responded to a stabbing in the area of King Street uptown, Saint John.
Police arrived on scene and located two injured victims, a 27-year-old male who had sustained serious injuries and an injured 54-year-old male. Emergency personnel immediately helped the injured victims, and they were subsequently transported to hospital. One victim remains in hospital currently in stable condition.
At 10:14 p.m. police responded to a residence on the East side regarding a 19-year-old male who was bleeding. It was determined to be associated to the incident on King Street. Two males were transported to the hospital as a result of their injuries. One 44-year-old male was later arrested for attempted murder and aggravated assault. The 19-Year-old male was arrest for aggravated assault times two. Both males were remanded into custody for a bail hearing which is schedule for August 04, 2026.
Based on the information gathered by police at the time of the incident, it was determined to be an isolated incident. The accused and victims were known to each other.
The Major Crime Unit and Forensic Services Unit were called to investigate. Police continue to investigate and gather evidence in relation to this incident.
Investigators are appealing for witnesses or anyone in the area that has photographs or video of the incident at the time it occurred.
