The Saint John Police Street Crime Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU) have made an arrest in a stolen vehicle investigation.
On May 26, 2026, at approximately 12:10 p.m., information was received from the RCMP that a stolen vehicle may be located in the Saint John area. At approximately 1:15 p.m. IEU located the vehicle and at approximately 1:31 p.m. members of patrol stopped the vehicle. Arrests were made without incident of the occupants of the vehicle; a 47-year-old male, a 58-year-old male, and a 16-year-old male.
As a result of the arrests, the following evidence was seized by police including, but not limited to:
- 127.6 grams of a substance believed to be fentanyl
- 18 grams of a substance believed to be methamphetamine
- $60 Canadian currency
- Digital scales
- Cell phone
The total approximate street value of seized drugs is $29,120.
The 47-year-old male was arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, and possession of stolen property over $5000. He appeared in court on May 27, 2026, and was remanded for a bail hearing to be held this afternoon.
The 58-year-old male was arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, and possession of stolen property over $5000. He appeared in court on May 27, 2026, and was remanded until June 10, 2026, for election.
The youth was arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, possession of stolen property over $5000, and a breach of probation. He was released on conditions and will appear in provincial court on July 22, 2026.
The Integrated Enforcement Unit consists of police officers from the Saint John Police, Kennebecasis Regional Police Force, New Brunswick Justice and Public Safety, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
