Arrests in Weapons Offence Investigation

The Saint John Police Street Crime Integrated Enforcement Unit made three arrests in connection with an ongoing weapons offence investigation. 

  

It is reported that: 

On Friday, December 6, 2024, the Street Crime Integrated Enforcement Unit, in collaboration with the Grand Bay-Westfield Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), executed a search warrant at a residence in Carters Point, New Brunswick. During the search, the following items were seized: 

  • A tactical Shotgun with a large clip attached (prohibited) 
  • Firearms components taped in box. (Complete parts for 223 rifle) 
  • Mag speed loader.  
  • Collapsible rifle buttstock and mag well.  
  • 3 Magazines full of .223 ammunition (30 round mags. (90 .223 Rounds). (prohibited) 
  • Magazine clip loaded with 9mm ammunition. 
  • Rifle barrel 
  • Black holster, conceal carry style 

Total Ammo 

  • 199 x 9mm rounds 
  • 200 x .223 rounds (3 x 30 loaded into magazines). 
  • 13 shotgun rounds + rounds in shotgun 
  • 1 30-06 Round 

Two men, aged 41 and 48, along with a 33-year-old woman, were arrested for multiple weapon-related offenses. All three individuals were released on undertakings and are scheduled to appear in court on February 25, 2025. 

The Integrated Enforcement Unit (I.E.U.) currently consists of officers from the Saint John Police, Kennebecasis Regional Police Force, and New Brunswick Justice and Public Safety.
