The Saint John Police are seeking the public’s assistance in connection with an attempted armed robbery in the North End of Saint John.
It is alleged that:
On Saturday, November 4, 2023, at approximately 12:45 a.m., a group of male suspects attempted to rob a pizza delivery driver in the area of Cunard Street and Waring Street.
The 57-year-old victim was approached by several men described as 17-21 years old wearing masks and hoodies; one suspect was described as Caucasian, approximately six-foot, slim build, dark clothing, and armed with a weapon. Another suspect was described as Caucasian with medium complexion, dark curly hair, and also armed with a weapon.
The suspects demanded money and assaulted the victim with a chemical irritant. They then fled down a set of stairs, across Main Street and towards Kennedy Street.
Officers, including K9, searched the area; however, the suspects were not located.
The victim was treated and released by paramedics at the scene.
Investigators are appealing for witnesses or anyone in the area that has video footage of the incident at the time it occurred.
