Chief Robert Bruce, on behalf of the Saint John Police, is pleased to announce that 6-year-old Sawyer Toews is the winner of the 2023 Chief for a Day contest.
Sawyer is often found pretending to be a police officer. Like a true police officer, Sawyer serves his community well! He plows his neighbour’s driveway in the winter, helps his nanny when she needs him, and watches out for suspicious activity in his community.
“Sawyer’s actions demonstrate the values that are essential to be a model police officer. The manner in which he serves and protects his community is commendable. Sawyer is an example for all of us” Chief R.M. Bruce
The Saint John Police will be proud to serve under Chief Toews when he visits Peel Plaza for a day next month.
We would also like to thank all of the students that entered this year’s contest.
