Man arrested for weapon offenses

On Saturday, November 23, 2024, at approximately 6:05 p.m., police responded to the reports of a possible armed person inside a building in the 100-block of Waterloo Street.  

It is reported that: 

An armed suspect was inside a building with other residents present. 

Officers quickly responded and contained the building with the assistance of the Emergency Tactical Services.  

Shortly before 7:30 p.m., a 30-year-old man was arrested exiting the building for weapons related offenses and remains in custody. There were no reported injuries.  

The Major Crime Unit continues to investigate, and police remain in the area. There is no concern for public safety at this time.  

The Saint John Police would again like to thank the public for their patience and cooperation, especially those who were temporarily displaced from their homes.
