Mischief Investigation – Queen Square South

The Saint John Police are seeking information from the public following mischief to a statue in Queen Square South.

It is reported that:

On Saturday, March 9, 2024, at approximately 1:15 p.m., the Saint John Police responded to a report of mischief in Queen Square South.

Police found that a statue of Samuel de Champlain had been damaged by graffiti.

It is believed that the damage had been present as early as 6:30 a.m. on March 9, 2024.

The graffiti was later removed by the City of Saint John.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone in the area that has video footage or surveillance of the incident or suspect(s) at the time it occurred.
