Operation Safe Streets

The Saint John Police continue with Operation Safe Streets in Waterloo Village and uptown area. Over the span of three separate days in the month of November 2025, we deployed dedicated foot, bike, and vehicle patrol teams.
The goal of Operation Safe Streets is to increase police presence, proactively address and disrupt criminal activity, and to restore a sense of public safety to the community.
The results of the operation last month are as follows:
- 21 foot patrols were conducted
- 24 businesses were visited
- Five arrests were made
- Three open drug encounters
- Six warnings and eight motor vehicle tickets were issued
The Quick Reaction Team (QRT) will continue to be proactive in enhancing visibility, familiarity, and enforcement activity as well as, in conjunction with other members, be reactive to specific community needs and issues that arise in the Waterloo Village area and the uptown business district.
“We appreciate the support and feedback from our community members with our Safe Streets initiative.” Chief R. M. Bruce
Together a safe, secure, healthy community
