Police seek public assistance in robbery investigation – King Street East

The Saint John Police Major Crime Unit are seeking information, witnesses, and video footage in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on King Street East.

On Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at approximately 7:52 p.m., officers responded to reports of a person screaming for help in the 200-block of King Street East.

It is alleged that:

  • A 61-year-old man was walking with a walker on King Street East.
  • He was approached by the suspect who was armed with a weapon. There was a struggle and the suspect stole the man’s bags and wallet.
  • The suspect fled on foot towards Pitt Street.
  • The suspect was described as a Caucasian man, 30-40 years old, 5’3”, with shaved hair on the sides of his head and braids on the top wearing a dark winter jacket.
  • The man was examined by paramedics at the scene and did not sustain any physical injuries.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone in the area that has video footage or surveillance of the incident at the time it occurred.
