Police seek Witnesses and Video Footage in Assault and Weapons Investigation – Taylor Avenue

The Saint John Police are seeking witnesses and video footage in connection with an altercation on Taylor Avenue near MacLaren Boulevard

It is reported that:

On Friday, August 11, 2023, at approximately 2:05 p.m., police responded to multiple reports of an altercation involving weapons on Taylor Avenue at MacLaren Boulevard. It was alleged that several people had been stabbed.

On arrival, police learned that an altercation between two groups of people known to each other had resulted in four adult men, two-aged 22, 24, and 41, being brought to hospital for various non-life-threatening injuries. Three have since been released while one remains in hospital.

Police have arrested four adult men, ages 19, 22, 23, and 24, and one youth, age 16, for various assault and weapons related offenses in connection with the incident. All have been released on undertakings with no contact conditions and future court dates.

The Major Crime Unit continues to investigate. Further charges are anticipated.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses or anyone in the area that has video surveillance or cell phone video of the incident at the time it occurred.
