(IDENTIFIED AND ARRESTED) Police seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect – robbery investigation

On Friday, January 5, 2024, as a result of assistance from the public, the suspect was identified.

At approximately 2:40 p.m., officers located and arrested the suspect for robbery. He remains in custody at this time.

The Major Crime Unit continues to investigate.

The Saint John Police would like to thank the public for their assistance.


The Saint John Police Major Crime Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a robbery investigation.

It is alleged that:

On Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at approximately 6:45 a.m., a taxi driver was robbed near the intersection of Duke Street and Carmarthen Street.

A male suspect armed with a weapon took money and other property from the driver and fled on foot heading west on Duke Street.

The driver lost sight of the suspect near the intersection of Sydney Street and Duke Street.

Officers responded and searched the area with the assistance of K9; however, the suspect was not located.

Forensics Services and Major Crime were called to investigate. No physical injuries were reported.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses or anyone that has video surveillance of the suspect in the area of Duke Street from Carmarthen Street to Sydney Street or in the general area.
