The Saint John Police Major Crime Unit in cooperation with the Coroners Services continue to investigate the circumstances in relation to the death of 47-year-old, James “Jimmy” Mailman, that were located near the reversing falls on July 02, 2024.

The Saint John Police Major Crime Unit, in cooperation with the Coroner’s Office, are investigating the discovery of human remains along the Saint John River.
It is reported that:
On Tuesday, July 02, 2024, at approximately 4:18 p.m., emergency personnel responded to a report of human remains on the shore of the Saint John River East of the Reversing Falls
The Saint John Police and Saint John Fire Department assisted in recovering the remains from the shore. The Major Crime Unit, Forensic Services, and the Coroner were called to the scene to investigate.
The cause, manner, and time of death are all pending further investigation.
The human remains have been identified as 47-year-old Saint John man who had not been reported missing. The next of kin has been notified and the deceased’s identity will not be released at this time. The Saint John Police sends our condolences to the family and friends of the deceased at this most difficult time.
