“The difference between who you are today and being a Difference Maker is only separated by the unknown”

The Saint John Police are proud to announce the success of our first of two Diversity Recruitment Camps that will be held in 2024. The Inclusion and Diversity Recruitment Camp is an innovative initiative aimed at providing underrepresented community members such as women and visible minorities with an inspiring opportunity to explore a career in policing.

The first of the two Recruitment Camps was held on Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Saint John Police Headquarters. Throughout the day, participants had a unique opportunity to gain insight into the many rewarding opportunities available within the Saint John Police.

Through a series of engaging and interactive sessions, attendees were able to interact with current officers, learn about the various roles and responsibilities within the Saint John Police, and gain hands-on experience in policing.

“Our Inclusion and Diversity Camp provides an opportunity for young people to explore opportunities in serving their community as a member of the Saint John Police. What was encouraging to me as Chief of Police and a resident was the diversity of cultures, languages, education, genders and experiences of the people who participated in the camp who are looking at enhancing, enriching and making positive contributions to our community through some form of public service.” said Chief Robert M. Bruce

We would like to extend our gratitude to the participants of this Inclusion and Diversity Recruitment Camp who had the courage to step up and learn about what it means to live a life of significance as a Saint John Police Officer.
