Saint John Police K9 Unit Validation

The Saint John Police are pleased to announce that Constable Mike Jackson with Police Service Dog Maverick and Constable Scott Boyles with Police Service Dog Arlo completed exhaustive evaluations last week and have successfully received their yearly validation in the following categories: 

• Drug search 

• Firearm search 

• Open search for people 

• Article/evidence search 

• Handler protection  

• K9 Apprehension  

• Human tracking 

Our canine teams enhance the capabilities of the Saint John Police and reinforce our commitment to public safety. Under the guidance of the Saint John Police, in collaboration with the Department of Justice and Public Safety, the training program provides comprehensive instruction to the canine handlers and their partners. Their rigorous training ensures that they are fully equipped to handle a wide range of situations effectively.
