Saint John Police Officer Charged

As a result of a public complaint and subsequent external criminal investigation conducted by the Kennebecasis Regional Police Force, an 18-year Detective Constable of the Saint John Police has been charged for breach of public trust under the Criminal Code of Canada. The officer is scheduled to appear in provincial court on December 2, 2025.

The officer has been suspended with pay pending the criminal proceedings. Once the criminal court proceedings have concluded, a New Brunswick Police Act investigation will follow.

This investigation did not meet the mandate of the Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT).

“The public’s trust and confidence are paramount to the Saint John Police. We will continue to hold our members to the highest standard of accountability while being transparent. We will not be providing any further comment while this matter remains before the courts.” Chief R.M. Bruce
