On March 3, 2026, the Saint John Police arrested a 69-year-old man without incident for the sexual assault of 15 individuals that took place between December 26, 2025, and January 19, 2026, at a senior care facility in Saint John.
The male has been released and placed on conditions pending a court appearance on May 26, 2026.

The Saint John Police are notifying the public of an active investigation regarding offences of a sexual nature that occurred at a senior care facility in Saint John.
It is alleged that:
On January 21, 2026, police received information from a senior care facility regarding offences of a sexual nature. It is believed that there are multiple victims and the suspect’s identity is known.
At this time, police believe this to be isolated to this address and procedures have been put in place to ensure there are no longer any safety concerns. Families of the residents who have been affected have been notified by the senior care facility who is fully cooperating with this investigation.
The Saint John Police Family Protection Unit are in the initial stages of gathering information to conduct a thorough investigation.
Police are asking the affected families who have been contacted by the senior care facility for their patience and to call police at 506-648-3303 should they have any questions. An investigator will return their call as soon as they are able.
