It is reported that:

On March 24, 2023, at approximately 3:00 am, the Saint John Police responded to the parking lot of a business in the North End where they located a 20-year-old woman who had sustained injuries from a shooting believed to have occurred outside in the 200-block of Watson Street West. The 20-year-old woman was transported from the scene and remains in hospital at this time.

Within minutes, police located a suspect vehicle travelling on Main Street North. The driver failed to stop for police and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit ended on Old Black River Road where a 32-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were arrested and remain in custody at this time. It is believed that at least one suspect fled into a wooded area.

Officers quickly established a perimeter and began to search the area with the assistance of canine and the Emergency Tactical Services. A 34-year-old man was later arrested at a residence in the area.

The Major Crime Unit continues to investigate and a police presence remains in the area of Old Black River Road.
