On Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the stolen backhoe was recovered abadoned in the area of Todd Street in East Saint John.
It was reported that the backhoe had been parked in this area between Thursday, July 13, 2023 and Friday, July 14, 2023.
The Major Crime Unit continues to investigate. At this time, no arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

The Saint John Police are seeking the public’s assistance in a stolen backhoe investigation.
It is alleged that:
On Saturday, July 8, 2023, at approximately 8:00 p.m., a yellow 1998 John Deere 310SE backhoe, NB license plate # T20-487, was stolen from a business on Whitebone Way.
The backhoe had two new tires on the front, no bucket on the back for digging, and unit # 9883 written on it.
The surveillance photographs shown depict the stolen backhoe and a suspicious person on the property during the time frame that the backhoe was stolen.
The Major Crime Unit continues to investigate. The backhoe has not been recovered.
