Weapons Offense Investigation

On Sunday, July 21, 2024, at approximately 8:34 p.m., the Saint John Police took a 41-year-old male into custody for weapons offenses.

It is reported that:

Patrol officers received information in relation to a possibly armed man, inside a vehicle, in the 100-block of Crown Street.

Police responded to the location and observed the man inside a vehicle. The 41-year-old man was taken into custody after he attempted to flee on foot.

The following items were located during the search of the individual and the vehicle he was in:

-Bullet proof vest
-Camouflage clothing
-Red and blue lights
-Ammunition
-Fake handgun
-Multiple knives
-Throwing star

The accused appeared in court on Monday, July 22, 2024, charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of an imitation weapon, careless handling of ammunition, and resisting arrest. He was remanded in custody for a bail hearing that is scheduled to take place on Thursday, July 25, 2024.
