The Saint John Police Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is responsible for the investigation of serious crime as well as the collection and analysis of evidence. This division is composed of experienced detectives with specialized training to lead and conduct complex investigations of a serious nature. The ultimate goal of CID is to ensure that justice is served and that the rights of victims are protected.
CID is comprised of the following units:
- Crime Analysis
- Criminal Intelligence Unit (CIU)
- Family Protection Unit (FPU)
- Forensic Identification Services (FIS)
- Major Crime Unit (MCU) including Fraud and Polygraph
- Street Crime Unit (SCU)
- Victim Services Unit (VSU)
