The Saint John Police Criminal Intelligence Unit (CIU) is responsible gathering, analyzing and disseminating intelligence related to criminal activities and organized crime. CIU is tasked with identifying and monitoring the activities of criminal networks and providing intelligence to the police officers in the field.

Intelligence gathered by the unit is used to inform strategic planning and operations, allowing police to better understand the activities of criminal networks and to target their investigations and operations more effectively. CIU oversees our human source program and works closely with our law enforcement partners.
