In the fall of 2022, the Saint John Police started a new community engagement pilot program called “Coffee with a Cop”. During the month of November 2022, Chief R.M. Bruce and Deputy Chief Honey Dwyer visited all five priority neighbourhoods in Saint John to discuss everything policing, from local crime issues to recruiting.
In addition, our recruitment team visited all of our local high schools to talk about what it means to be a “Difference Maker”. It was a great opportunity to hear your concerns, discuss some solutions to local problems, and connect with our youth. We want to continue these important discussions and foster these critical relationships.
If you feel the same way and you’re planning a community event, we encourage you to invite us for coffee (or hot chocolate if that’s your preference) by submitting a Request for Community Appearance and a member of our team will contact you.
