Protect Your Children

Here are some helpful hints to protect your children:

  • Always be aware of your children’s whereabouts. Make sure they are supervised at all times and never allow them to wander off alone.
  • Install a reliable home security system and keep windows and doors locked when they are not at home.
  • Teach your children safety rules and how to recognize and respond to potentially dangerous situations.
  • Encourage open communication with your children and let them know they can come to you with any concerns they may have.
  • Teach your children to trust their instincts and to never get into a car or go anywhere with someone they don’t know.
  • Check the backgrounds of any caregivers or babysitters you hire.
  • Get to know your neighbors and the people in your community.
  • Don’t allow your children to accept gifts from strangers.
  • Educate yourself and your children on the possible dangers in your area, such as drug activity.
