The Saint John Police Family Protection Unit have made an arrest in relation to a sexual assault investigation.
It is alleged that:
On July 8, 2025, at approximately 8:10 p.m. police responded to a call of a sexual assault that took place inside a business on Union Street in Saint John.
The 21-year-old male was followed into a bathroom stall and sexually assaulted. At the time of the offence, the identity of the accused was not known.
On October 15, 2025, at approximately 7:00 a.m., a 54-year-old male was arrested by the Oromocto RCMP detachment for sexual assault and released on conditions.
The suspect will appear in court on March 9, 2026, to answer to the charge in connection with this incident.
