The Saint John Police Major Crime Unit is seeking witnesses to an aggravated assault that occurred around Richmond Street in Uptown Saint John on October 07, 2025.
It is reported that:
On Tuesday, October 07, 2025, at approximately 6:40 p.m., the Saint John Police responded to a serious assault that occurred in the area of Richmond Street and Exmouth Street.
Officers arrived to find a 38-year-old male, who had sustained serious injuries. The male was transported and remains in hospital in critical condition.
The Major Crime Unit and Forensic Services were called to investigate, and the investigation is ongoing.
On October 8, 2025, officers from the Street Crime Integrated Enforcement Unit (I.E.U.) arrested a 34-year-old male in relation to this incident. The male is currently in police custody and will be attending court in the morning.
At this point in the police investigation, it is believed to be an isolated incident.
Investigators are appealing for witnesses or anyone in the area that has photographs or video of the incident at the time it occurred.
