Arrest in Robbery Investigation – Uptown Saint John

The Saint John Police have arrested a 43-year-old woman following a robbery in Uptown Saint John

It is alleged that:

On Saturday, February 1, 2025, shortly after 2:00 p.m., a 74-year-old woman had withdrawn a large sum of currency from an automated teller machine in the area of King Street in uptown Saint John.

Another woman then assaulted the 74-year-old victim and stole her wallet containing the currency. The suspect fled the area on foot.

Officers responded to the area and began searching for the suspect.

As a result of further investigation, a 43-year-old woman matching the description of the suspect on video surveillance was located at a bar in the North End.

At approximately 2:45 p.m., the suspect was arrested for robbery and taken into custody.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening physical injuries.

On Monday, February 3, 2025, the accused appeared in court charged with robbery and she was remanded to jail scheduled to return to court on Thursday, February 6, 2025, for a bail hearing.
